How to Search the Pachuta Court Docket
Pachuta works differently from most towns. The official State Auditor report states plainly that the Village runs no court of its own and sends every case to Justice Court. So there is no Pachuta municipal docket. There is no city payment form or municipal case portal to hunt for. Start any Pachuta court docket search with the court line printed on the citation. Then take that name to Clarke Justice Court. Skip the temptation to invent a city-court website that does not exist.
- Read the Pachuta citation or notice and identify the court name, issuing agency, citation or case number, and stated appearance date.
- For a Pachuta matter that does not name another court, contact Clarke Justice Court and ask whether the case is on its docket.
- Give the Justice Court the citation number and ask for the current Pachuta setting, status, payment process, and record-copy procedure.
- If the papers name Circuit Court, Chancery Court, or another court, use that court's clerk instead. A Pachuta address does not override the court named in the record.
- Keep the response, receipt, and any disposition. Confirm a changed Pachuta date directly with the court before appearing.
Start routing with the county court directory. Clarke County Courts lists Justice Court as the limited-jurisdiction court for the whole county. It handles listed traffic cases, misdemeanors, the early work on felony charges, and small civil matters.
Pachuta Justice Court Route
The Pachuta exception rests on an official document. It is not based on a website that happens to be missing. Mississippi's Office of the State Auditor published an agreed-upon-procedures report in 2024. It states that Pachuta has no court of its own. All cases go to Justice Court. That makes Clarke Justice Court the primary Pachuta court docket route whenever a citation fails to name a different court. It also saves you from hunting. The town has no calendar or payment page.
The county court page lists Justice Court at 101 South Archusa Avenue, Quitman. The phone number is 662-776-5371. A footer on the same site shows a different number. Trust whatever the official county source currently posts. For a docket search, the court name plus the citation number beats any general internet query.

The Pachuta Municipal Court
There is no Pachuta Municipal Court. The official State Auditor report says it directly: the Village keeps no court of its own and sends all cases to Justice Court. This heading exists only because the municipal-court question trips people up, not because such a court exists. No Pachuta municipal docket, city court clerk, or local municipal calendar waits anywhere to be searched.
That makes the usual municipal search, calendar, and payment steps beside the point here. Justice Court is the default Pachuta route. Still, follow the court name on the citation if it points somewhere else. Neighbors are different on this point. Quitman, Stonewall, Enterprise, and Shubuta all appear on the state court map as places with municipal courts. Pachuta does not.
One habit prevents most false results. Never swap in a generic traffic-payment site, an Enterprise result from another state, or a county land-record lookup for the court that actually holds the case.
Pachuta Court Audit Record
The official Pachuta State Auditor report is where the no-court and Justice Court routing fact comes from. Read it for what it is. It is a financial-control and agreed-upon-procedures report, not a case search interface. For a Pachuta court docket question, its value is jurisdictional. It confirms the right first court to call.
The Office of the State Auditor's official resources page adds state-audit context around that report. Treat it as background, though. It is not a Pachuta public case database.
If you have a live Pachuta citation, the Justice Court docket and the clerk are your working access points. The audit report only shows the route. It does not give case status or a court date.
Pachuta Court Dates and Settings
Pachuta has no municipal court calendar because it has no municipal court. The date printed on your citation controls a Pachuta ticket. That holds unless the named court confirms a change. Justice Court calendars run separately from other county court schedules. Clarke posts no consolidated public calendar covering every Justice, Circuit, Chancery, and municipal setting. Check with each court directly.
| Date | The individual Pachuta-related appearance date on the citation, notice, docket, or current court confirmation. |
|---|---|
| Time | The docket-call or case time supplied by Justice Court or the court named on the record. |
| Court | Clarke Justice Court for the default Pachuta route, unless the citation identifies another court. |
| Location | The court location stated by the responsible clerk or printed on the citation, not a nonexistent Pachuta courtroom. |
| Setting type | The type of event, such as initial appearance, arraignment, hearing, trial, or compliance matter. |
A court term covers many cases at once. It is not one hearing. The 2026 directory lists Circuit and Chancery term dates for Clarke County, but a Pachuta Justice Court case does not become a Circuit or Chancery setting just by reading it. Check the docket for the court that actually holds the case.
Pachuta Court Date Check
If a Pachuta court date moves, ask the court that holds the case. A docket entry marked continued or reset means one thing. The old date is gone. Get the new date from the clerk. A filed order works too. A general page being down does not mean court was cancelled. Clarke County publishes no exact local failure-to-appear fees, deadlines, or payment rules. Confirm those with the clerk too.
- Initial appearance
- An early criminal proceeding that can address rights, bond, and the next setting.
- Setting
- A scheduled court event. For Pachuta, verify whether Justice Court or another named court owns it.
- Continuance or reset
- A changed date that must be confirmed with the responsible court.
- Disposition
- The recorded case outcome. A receipt alone may not be a certified disposition.
Justice Court also runs jail sessions three times each week for prompt initial appearances, per the county Courts page. No days or times are posted. For a date tied to a specific Pachuta case, the clerk is the source.
Pachuta Traffic Tickets
Pachuta runs its traffic cases through Clarke County Justice Court. The town keeps no municipal court of its own. A State Auditor report assigns Pachuta cases to Justice Court. That route also covers tickets written by the Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Clarke County Sheriff. Always check the citation itself. If it names a different court, follow that court's instructions and confirm them directly. No Pachuta municipal ticket lookup, payment portal, or court calendar exists to fall back on.
Call Justice Court, or whichever court the citation names, before you pay or contest anything. Ask whether paying counts as a guilty plea. Ask whether you must appear, and how to request a trial or a continuance. The Mississippi DPS guidance handles citation disputes. It sends them to the court in the jurisdiction where the ticket was issued. Save every receipt the court gives you. Pachuta has no published deferred-disposition fees, defensive-driving rules, online Justice Court lookup, or payment vendor. The citation and current court instructions control.
Pachuta Traffic Court Fields
| Pachuta citation detail | Why to preserve it |
|---|---|
| Court name | Identifies Justice Court or another court that actually holds the record. |
| Issuing agency | Confirms whether the ticket uses a county or other jurisdictional route. |
| Citation number | Primary identifier when there is no Pachuta municipal search portal. |
| Appearance date and time | Starting date to confirm with Justice Court or the named court. |
| Payment and plea language | Shows the questions to ask before treating a payment as final. |
The Mississippi eCite resource offers public citation abstracts and statistics from participating agencies. Treat it as a research aid. It is not a full Pachuta court docket, and it will not show every ruling or payment status.
Where Pachuta Cases End Up
Justice Court is the default home for Pachuta cases. The Village has no court of its own. Other matters follow separate tracks. Clarke County Circuit Court holds felony trial jurisdiction plus broader civil cases. The Twelfth Chancery Court covers family, estate, guardianship, equity, and land issues. The Chancery land-record system stores recorded instruments. That is not the same as a Pachuta court docket. Whatever the case involves, its subject and filing court decide which office holds the record.
Docket flow: Pachuta case › Clarke Justice Court › Clarke County Circuit or Chancery Court when the case type and procedure require it › Mississippi appellate courts when an appeal is properly taken.
This flow differs from the municipal-court pattern seen in other Clarke County cities. A case does not become municipal just because it sits on a city page. For matters outside Justice Court, the Clarke County court docket overview lays out the wider county routes.
Pachuta Court Record Boundaries
Pachuta shows why city status and court jurisdiction are two different things. The 2020 Census incorporated-place table lists a population of 207. Small size aside, population alone creates no municipal docket. It is the State Auditor's report that routes Pachuta cases to Justice Court. The census table plays no part.
| Pachuta-related record | Where it belongs | Do not substitute |
|---|---|---|
| Default local citation or case route | Clarke Justice Court | A Pachuta municipal portal, because none exists |
| Felony or broader civil matter | Circuit Court and Circuit Clerk | Justice Court merely because the event arose in Pachuta |
| Family, estate, equity, or land matter | Chancery Court and Chancery Clerk | A municipal case search or land portal as a docket |
| Driver status request | MDPS process separate from the court record | A court docket as a full driving record |
That boundary matters in daily terms. Making the right first call can spare a Pachuta resident a wasted wait at a clerk's window that never held the case.
Public Access to Pachuta Court Records
A Pachuta court-record request normally goes to Justice Court or another Clarke County court. It does not go to a Pachuta town clerk. Name the record you want. Then ask the office that holds it for the public, unsealed portion. Judicial policy, court rules, and confidentiality law govern what court files can release. Where it applies, requests to public bodies fall under the separate Mississippi Public Records Act framework.
Key Rules:
Mississippi Code §25-61-5 sets a public-record access framework and addresses separating exempt material where possible.
Mississippi Code §25-61-7 permits authorized direct costs for search, review, copying, and transmission.
Mississippi Judiciary public-records policy recognizes the additional policy and court-rule rules governing court files.
Mississippi Code §§43-21-261 and 93-17-25 provide special confidentiality rules for youth and adoption records.
Some material stays closed. Sealed cases, juvenile matters, adoption records, and protected identifiers may be off limits. When access is limited, ask the court for the legal basis and whether an unsealed, segregable portion can be released.
Pachuta Court Record Requests
When you request a Pachuta record, give the actual court name. Give the citation or case number too. Include the names as filed and the document or docket entries you need. Say whether you want a plain or certified copy. Contact Justice Court or the named court before you mail any payment. Confirm the fees. Ask about delivery options and current identification requirements. No Pachuta municipal fee schedule exists because there is no Pachuta municipal court.
Records outside the Justice Court route run through their own channels. The county FAQ points criminal-history and civil-litigation questions to the Circuit Clerk. Chancery subjects go to the Chancery Clerk. MEC offers account-gated access for participating Circuit and Chancery courts. Note your request date and keep the court's response for follow-up.
